The American Farm Bureau is organizing an online survey geared toward women in agriculture.
The survey, which aims to understand what women in agriculture are thinking about the future, can be accessed online and only takes about 10 minutes to complete, says AFBF's Robin Kinney.
"The in-depth questions that we’re asking will help us reveal how and what the future will look like with women in agriculture. The data from our respondents will be used to help gauge those trends and relate back to the achievements that women have and the role that they play in agriculture today," Kinney says.
The Farm Bureau welcomes answers from all women in agriculture, including those who work off the farm, have full-time jobs in agriculture, or young people completing an education.
"We really want their opinion," Kinney says. She notes there are a few narrative questions and some multiple choice. Other questions ask respondents to select all answers that apply to their situation.
The survey can be found online. Everyone who completes a survey is eligible to win one of five $100 gift cards, AFBF said.
According to the latest ag census, conducted in 2012 and released last year, 30% of all farm operators in the U.S. were female.
